Lunch with MK's President

Marissa Oddo, president of Marissa's Kitchen,took enough time to visit the children of Malingin Elementary School in Daanbantayan, Cebu, Philippines yesterday, September 11, 2008. The school is one of the two schools benefiting the Free Lunch Program.
She was greeted by children with smiling faces enthusiastically as she was walking along the school's lobby, just a few minutes before the lunch started. She directly went to the principal's office where they had a chitchat with the other teachers. When lunch for the kids was served she then went to each classroom where pupils enjoyed their meal. After having spent enough time, she left for home to prepare for her departure back to North Carolina, USA on September 13.
Marissa was born and grew up in Daanbantayan. The visit was part of her two-week vacation in the Philippines. The free lunch program, which started three years ago provides a full meal during lunch time every Tuesdays and Thursdays and will continue until the Philippine school calendar ends in March.
