We absolutely appreciate any amount of donation. However, we set up a $2 minimum amount to cover transactions cost.
Community Support
Marissa's Kitchen is a non-profit, charity organization for children with its program beneficiaries in the Philippines. The programs provide free lunches, school supplies, assistance, and community support.
Almost all of Marissa’s Kitchen’s funding and support comes from donations from RoadTrucker. RoadTrucker sends Balikbayan boxes that Marissa’s Kitchen distributes to schools, colleges and the community, when needed.
Every year, RoadTrucker sends from 3 to 12 Balikbayan boxes filled with school supplies, toys, food, candy, clothes, first aid items and other items that are needed by many Filipinos and their children.
These items are in addition to the cash donations that pay for the Free Lunch program and other programs provided by Marissa’s Kitchen. These cash donations are used for providing school supplies; feeding children; establish, build, and/or rehabilitate structures (i.e. classrooms and reading centers); and install water and/or electric service.
On delivery of the Balikbayan boxes, volunteers sort the items into for schools and for community, with some slated for specific people who have a specific need. Most items go to the schools with the poorest getting the lion’s share. Volunteers are then assign to deliver the items, which include cloths, non-perishable food and kitchen items.
Marissa’s Kitchen has been doing this for several years and we hope that this will never end. Let us help together and create a better tomorrow, as the children are the future of our world.
